Privatization has failed to allow Alberta to provide for its citizens
Alberta richer than other prairie provinces, but underserved
MEDICINE HAT, AB, June 16, 2011: Collin Gallant criticizes Alberta's privatization policies in the Medicine Hat News, affirming that Saskatchewan and Manitoba, despite fewer cash-generating resources, can somehow afford more services for their citizens.
"It was a mere five years ago that editorial pages across this great land proclaimed that Alberta was doing things right — a leader in debt reduction and the very model of how governments should move ahead into the fiscal mystery of the 21st century.
My, how things have changed.
But rather than rehash the pantheon of money troubles the provincial government is facing in areas of health, education, photo radar, etc., let's look at a couple news items that were buried on the back pages of this newspaper in the past week..."
