BC Liberals approve further privatization of province's oldest provincial park

Government puts commercial interests ahead of those of the public.

Strathcona Provincial Park is the oldest in BC.COURTENAY, BC, April 20, 2011: Naturalist and photographer Dave Ingram reports in The Daily News that to help alleviate the park's trail maintenance funding woes, the Friends of Strathcona Park have proposed a volunteer solution.

"Despite significant public opposition, BC Parks has issued a park use permit to allow Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, a high-end resort, to run exclusive horse tours in the remote Bedwell Valley of Strathcona ParkĀ…"
