Have your say on health care
Introducing a new online avenue for meaningful discussion.
In mid-December, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) launched a website for its Healthcare Transformation campaign. Within a month, the website had received more than 630 comments on the original three discussion topics and visitors had started discussions on 22 other topics.
CMA President Jeff Turnbull says that every day, patients tell physicians that the system needs an overhaul and that patients don't have a say in the health care system. "You do have a say, and we look forward to hearing from you," says Turnbull.
The CMA will also provide additional avenues for expression by holding a series of "town hall" meetings for doctors and by co-hosting six "Conversations with Macleans," panel discussions moderated by the magazine's editors.
