Newmarket, ON librarians "not asking for the moon"
Campaign strives for parity with other library workers in region.
A leaflet entitled "We're not asking for the moon" warned the public of a pending strike over issues including employer efforts to replace part-time workers with volunteers and unfair sick leave provisions.
CUPE Local 905 members from the Newmarket Public Library in Ontario also drew attention to the high number of non-unionized management staff in proportion to the unionized staff. The union members are only asking for parity with other library workers in the York Region.
